The new Grange University Hospital (GUH) in Gwent, South Wales, opened its doors on 18th November to patients, four months ahead of schedule.
The new 471 bed facility in Cwmbran has taken three years to build and received over £360m Welsh Government funding, bringing together services previously provided at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport and Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny.
The hospital has 24-hour specialist assessment, intensive care and comprehensive diagnostic facilities, along with inpatient beds for major emergencies and complex surgery.
Bristol Maid, a leading UK manufacturer of medical furniture & equipment, was called upon to assist with the project, supplying a wide range of its signature products. All equipment was delivered to a pre-agreed schedule.
It was a great pleasure to once again assist the procurement team at NHS Wales Shared Services’ said Ian Farnfield, Sales Director for Bristol Maid. The team at Bristol Maid worked tirelessly to ensure that we met the agreed delivery schedule. It is a continued source of pride that Bristol Maid products have been selected for the new facility and will provide many years support for the local community.
